I taught high school math for 18 years before becoming a high school math consultant in September of 2009. My main role is to support the teachers of the Edmonton region in the implementation of a revised program of studies that asks teachers to make a significant pedagogical shift. I have learned a great deal about teaching math since becoming a consultant, and I am confident I will be a much better teacher when I return to the classroom.
